Adv Cert. Counselling Skills
I am British born and come from a dual heritage background and I have been involved in the counselling field since 1997. Through my work I recognised that including a spiritual dimension to counselling and psychotherapy can be very helpful to healing and wholeness, and to lead to a more authentic life. This led me to train in Psychosynthesis at the Institute of Psychosynthesis, London, whose degree programmes are validated by Middlesex University. I am a fully qualified Psychosynthesis counsellor and psychotherapist. I am a registered member of the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) and I am accredited with the Association for Psychospiritual Practitioners (APP).
I have no doubt that there is an inherent integrity to every human being and that accessing and embodying this is a journey in itself with its peaks and valleys. This is why grounding or anchoring the human spirit is so essential, because it helps us to come into a much fuller experience of the here and now. Psychosynthesis counselling and psychotherapy greatly facilitates the journey to being more present in our personal and professional relationships, and in the world.
Mindfulness meditation, which I have practiced for seventeen years, is also a great aid to this journey. It facilitates awareness of the mind/body connection and its relevance to psychotherapy, which is a keen interest of mine. I am also greatly inspired by those who are able to access the Loving Guidance that is available to all of us – the wisdom of the still small voice within – and live their lives by it. I teach Mindfulness meditation to clients who wish to learn, and I also run a short six week Mindfulness course from time to time. Click here for details of my next course.
